Good assessment - especially for those who remember our history and a time when military planning was done privately - not on a phone with the world listening. $Trump and Hegseth are taking Conway's "alternative facts" to new levels. It is raining bullshit and bombasity in America. What a cleanup ahead.
Some days I am horrified. Some days numb. Some days embarrassed and disgusted. Some days really pissed off. Some days astounded. And always incredulous that more than 100 people actually believe the obvious lies.
And maybe worst of all, I am constantly amazed that more than 100 people actually like this monster. My question for them would be: "How would you feel if your teenage daughter was in a room alone with him ("it")?
Bill, I was thinking about writing a piece on "alternative facts" since we don't hear that phrase any more...but it does apply well these days. I'm totally with you on "horrified, numb, etc." and it is amazing that so many people can live with the constant lies. I've also been pondering what to do that could help out...one possibility is try to get a video we did of an historical musical titled "The Moment was now" into wider distribution, or get it staged and touring. It was produced just before Covid...and was featured in festivals and at events for awhile. It's going to be in a film festival in San Francisco in July. I'll write a substack about it soon.
Mike,

Right on all points, Mike. The hubris, the effrontery, the ignorance - but what else did we expect?
