Happy Birthday Dad
Thankful for you
Nov 26 is my Dads birthday. It’s been a little over 30 years since I’ve seen him…been able to talk with him directly…but his presence is always around.
Dad was the most decent and kind man I’ve ever known. He was outgoing and friendly to everyone. He was a good artist and athlete, liked to play ball and coach Little League and was Scoutmaster. Dad was also a good dancer…my wife wishes I had more of that ability.
We spent a lot of time with family on the Magothy River when we were young.
That’s my sister on the left…I don’t know what I was looking at…as mom tried to wrangle me.
We grew up knowing we were loved. It wasn’t perfect…but as you get older you find out how imperfect and flawed a family many people grow up with. We were very fortunate.
That’s my dad’s mother, Edna, holding my daughter on her first birthday. They are both Virgo’s and a lot alike.
Mom Mom & Pop did a good job raising my dad…I hope that I’m doing as well for my kids. Happy 107 Dad….hope you’re still catching big ones out there.
Peace

happy bday to your pops. didn’t know him personally but knowing you means I know him more than a little bit. keep on truckin’ mike
Some of us were lucky to have been born into families like this. Me too. My wife as well.
Soooo many are not. And they carry the scars of their parents abuse or obliviousness.
I can think of one person in particular who has been wrecked by an unloving brutal set of parents. Just ask his niece.
Great post, Mike. We should relish and appreciate the good stuff. There is a lot to be grateful for.
Enjoy the holiday ahead.
