Unfortunately, allegiance to DJT has reached religious proportions for much of the core. It is a faith value, and at that point there is no reasoning. Facts truly do not matter because faith is belief in things unseen. “In the shoals and eddies of independent thought one encounters of the beast.” - quoting a journalist from several years ago. Sorry I don’t have the exact reference. Being from the deep south, and having grown up in the evangelicalBaptist church, I’m quite familiar with how it works.

There's going to come a point Trump is no longer available to rant and rave from a stage or on TV...but if your analogy is correct, he'll become a martyr of sorts and the "faithful" will continue to idolize him.

If that's true, there are probably those who also idolize P.T. Barnum.

You have to put Barnum in the context of his time. He was an incredible showman and people loved the circus. "Animal Rights" did not exist as a cause. Hunting trophy animals and Zoo's were far different. We have evolved a long way from 1875 in how we treat animals. I can still appreciate what he created and did in context...Trump is a far different "animal".

I agree, Donald lives in a different time and we can't compare apples and oranges, but the total disregard for the wellbeing of his compatriots is certainly similar.
