I’ve only had the opportunity once. Unfortunately it was in the Richmond Coliseum and the sound was awful, but the energy was amazing!

It was a special experience when it occurred in '76. We had no idea the kind of American rock/folk hero icon Bruce and this band would become. I've worked hundreds of shows and events but this one stands out as a moment where the lives of a college student stage crew intersected with young men on a pathway to glory days.

I'm thinking you're the Zelig of the rock world.

Joan I think I'm more of a "Forrest Gump" with a camera, or a roll of gaffers tape. Because of my work, myself and a lot of folks like me in the "gig economy"...end up on the edge of some monumental events but also a lot of events that don't matter in the grand scheme of life. I have a lot of good dinner stories. Substack has given me a place to share with others beyond our dining room.

Carter Barren amphitheater 1978 I think was when I first saw him. Had tickets for Boz Scaggs who cancelled and replaced the show with the E Street band. Was blown away! I had never heard of him. Saw him 3 more times. Great performer!
