I would love to just be writing have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with friends and family…but the stakes for all of us are just too high. I’m going to make this very simple. The GOP members of Congress are holding our future hostage by not just raising the debt ceiling…and then working out the next budget. Would you, on purpose, crash your finances, because you and your wife could not agree on next years budget? I doubt it, unless you have a dysfunctional and toxic relationship.

I’ve been to the brink. I used every tool available to me to not lose my house. I had a mountain of debt built up…and it wasn’t because of living beyond my means. A big part was unexpectedly loosing a large client because they were bought out and having to make up the difference. The owners made millions…we didn’t get a gift card for dinner. We worked through it…with help, hard work and creatively using tools available to us.

Now Kevin McCarthy and the GOP Congress are willing to take us over the edge, so they can “save the day” somehow. Trump screams “don’t make a deal…default”….this by the man who sold millions of books titled “the art of the deal”…think about that a minute. There’s no “art” in this. It’s war…and WE are the potential victims.

Let’s do ourselves a collective favor….I don’t care what your politics are and say very loudly…stop this BS. Raise the ceiling…then work out a budget.

It’s what I did personally. It worked. We used credit…paid it down…lived in our budget and found new ways to increase revenue.

I give my most humble thanks to those soldiers who gave the last full measure to keep us free….now let’s not be idiots and plunge ourselves into a dark hole. There’s no need for it. Reach out to your elected reps…reach out to Speaker McCarthy…flood his office…Peace & Love to all

PS. The photo has US Grant in it on purpose. He knew how to fight and win and had a President who worked at until he found the best tools for victory.
