I need a little help from my friends
“Monumental Struggle” is not just a doc title…it is my life right now…and the Indiegogo fund raising has become a monumental struggle for me. I’m loving everything else about this process…everything. I feel very connected and alive.
But begging for money is not my thing. I hate it. Most of my career people just hire me to show up with my camera…document whatever they want, I edit it…and I get a check in the amount I asked for. No begging…no campaign…maybe a short negotiation. When they go down from $5,000 to $4500…I go up to $6,000. “(that’s a joke…sometimes).
I hate finance…accounting…it bores me. I’m very glad there are other folks who do it and love it.
I LOVE the creative process.
Here’s my pitch. We have one week to raise $7,000. That’s $1,000 a day. I’m reaching out to everyone I can.
Why are we in this position, you ask?
I made an assumption, based on what I knew that an 800 name mailing list of people highly likely to back the campaign would be available to us. It’s not…and it took a week after the campaign launched to define that and confirm it. We tried negotiating. there was no budge. So here we are.
I’m going to ask in every forum I can…for the next week for your backing…and we do have SWAG just like PBS.
