Fresh Air
A star is born
What I’m feeling watching the Donald anymore is like watching a comedian kind of like Don Rickels who was good at insulting people. It was his thing and people laughed along and applauded…
even when it was at someones expense…but at least with Rickels there was a wink…and a hug and I love you…and you knew it was a joke.
With Trump it’s never a joke…it’s just a real insult…but his audience laughed and applauded and it egged him on for more.
Well the act has become VERY stale. We’ve heard it all before and now it’s starting to loose it’s appeal even to some of his fans. The rest of us started tuning him out and looking away a long time ago.
His handlers are trying to get the act focused and refreshed…but the boss thinks he knows best. It worked once before and this is the comeback tour…”they love my stuff…really.” So his insults continue to be center stage…even when there’s a script.
On the other hand we have 2 relatively fresh faces who have been working and perfecting their gigs in smaller venues, with fewer eyeballs on them and are now making the jump to the arena’s and bigger venues…with more media, more attention…and the act is fresh and real, has a lot more energy than the old guy with the red cap and it’s working.
Next week all of the folks who were the First Families of this “brand” will be on stage with them in a kind of political Woodstock. It will be historic. It will be remembered and it will move and motivate people.
I REALLY wish that I was working this event in my favorite spot…the pit between the stage and the audience…where the energy is electric.
While Trump is like an old tired Vegas lounge act who used to be the hot ticket and can’t change….begging folks to pay attention…because in the end, that’s really what he craves…even more than power. It’s eyeballs on him.
Harris is the hot ticket, selling out the big room. This really is a lot like “A Star is Born”.
Peace & love y’all

How long before Trump does the sad Jeb Bush "please clap"?
