Did Kubrick foreshadow 2026 ?
Stanley Kubrick’s black comedy satire Dr. Strangelove seemed so over the top in 1964 that you had to laugh at it…
but current posts coming out of the Whitehouse are as strange or even stranger.
The big change is that POTUS is the insane one today, instead of Brig. Gen. Ripper in the film.
If you are too young, or have never seen it, the black & white film involves B-52 Bombers with nuclear bombs being sent over the Soviet Union by a rogue officer. I don’t want to give away the plot.
Peter Sellers is brilliant in 3 roles…one of them an ex-Nazi…George C. Scott, Keenan Wynn, Sterling Hayden and Slim Pickens are all brilliant.
Pickens plays Major King Kong….who has one of the most memorable scenes in all of film.
I think that might be Pistol Pete Hegseth’s role these days. What do you all think ?

I've already pegged Hegseth as Buck Turgidson. Of course Hegseth doesn't have half the intelligence of either General Turgidson or Major Kong.
