DC
still looks the same
I was in DC last week for the first time since before the election and can report that outwardly it still looks and feels the same.
There were no MAGA banners or Trump flags hanging from the White House fence. There were no large crowds protesting or supporting anything. What I did encounter were dozens of buses and hundreds of school age kids lined up at the Smithsonian museums, art galleries and the Capitol .
Out in the streets it felt like business as usual. There was no indication that a “Big Beautiful Bill” was being debated.
I did not have to pass through any check points or present my papers to enter or move about the city.
(Checkpoint Charlie Berlin)
There were no outward signs of all of the EO’s that have been signed in the last 4 months in the Oval Office. No sign of all of the contracts canceled and people fired.
It all looks “normal”.
But I’m VERY curious how it’s going to feel on June 14th when we have the big military parade. Is anyone going to stand in the street in front of the tanks? What’s DC going to look like and feel like on the 250th Anniversary of the Army ?

Glad to hear about the lack of outward advertising, anyway. Still hoping the mayor of DC will tell him she needs a deposit to repair the damage to the roads before the 14th.
Let's hope for a small crowd in DC. Ignoring trump is what really upsets him.
And big crowds everywhere else. We had a pop up protest a couple of days ago. MA has been targeted for kidnappings. Biggest problem was where to park.
