April 9
The struggle is over...or is it ?
On this day in 1865, General Lee surrendered his Army of Northern Virginia to General Grant. It was the beginning of the end of the most horrific 4 years in the American experiment in self government. We came close to becoming at least 2 nations, possibly 3 or 4…because of an unresolved disagreement over the value of white folks and black folks. Whether those abducted and kidnapped from Africa, were less than my ancestors and were intended by God to be the property and servants of white men. At least white men with plantations.
The Confederate States first surrender was by Lee to Grant on this day. The CS Government fled and attempted to incite guerilla war…but thankfully Lee would not do it. He knew the end had come…he had enough of the bloodshed and misery.
The other dominoes fell and by Juneteeth the war was finally over. But the belief in White supremacy was far from dead. Nathan Bedford Forrest would create the KKK….and in 2017 his followers would rally around a monument to RE Lee in Charlottesville VA carrying replica Confederate battle flags, replicas of the flags that had been carried into battle at Antietam, Gettysburg and Petersburg…banners that had been furled and honorably surrendered to never be used against the US again…that was part of the deal signed by Lee ...and the modern KKK of Forrest’s disciples were marching alongside people wearing and carrying Nazi emblems…in an effort to save Lee’s statue from being removed. Think on that a minute.
in 1941, virtually all of America united to defeat Hitler and his death machine Nazi’s. Gen Eisenhower would fight Hitler’s Generals to the death of their evil empire. He would become the Republican’s nominee and our 34th President…really following in Grant’s footsteps…winners of the 2 wars that define us the most.
The Civil War is apparently not over, if people are still carrying that rebel flag into battle…and make no mistake it is battle when people are being killed…and DJT had the nerve to say there were good people on both sides. By my definition Nazi’s are not “good people”…the KKK are not “good people”. They believe they are better, finer than my Black friends and neighbors. I reject that idea….and so should everyone else.
As a final note on this Easter morning. I’m going to buy some Bud Lite, even though I think it’s crappy beer. I’m not impressed that Kid Rock feels like a big man murdering cans of beer because they were endorsed by a Trans “influencer”. PEACE to all.

So now I have to Google "Kid Rock and Bud Lite".
Peace to you, Mike. Happy Easter!
