This is for Mr Kyle, whose post I saw a little while ago on HCR’s daily Letter. Thank you for your service, I’m VERY glad you survived the war sir. Here’s a photo I took last week for another Kyle who is a friend. Maybe this is a relative? He’s certainly a brother in arms.
I took these images 10 years ago as they laid to rest, two of the crew from the Ironclad Monitor, 150 years after the historic ship sank in a storm off of Hatteras.
Thanks for giving the last full measure, for helping to free people from bondage who you never knew. Your collective sacrifices changed our country for the better…though we still fight the fight for racial justice and equality. Bless you all. May Peace be in our future
VERY TRUE. This should be the most solemn day in America. Visit a battlefield, visit a Vet. We spent time with my wife’s dad yesterday. He’s a WWII vet. 96 and was fortunate enough to serve guarding the Panama Canal. I need to call my nephew today. He was the last in the family to serve in a war zone as a medic, evaccing wounded to Germany from Iraq.
Thank you, Mike. We all need this.
